2022 Keith's wave from Heaven 30x24.jpg

#storybehindtheart

In June 1989, Keith Haring painted a mural on a building owned by the Church in Pisa, Italy. The Mural titled Tuttomondo celebrates life, peace and harmony. This Post is based on a photo taken on site.
His comments are based from extract of his journals. On June 19 he wrote “Pisa is incredible. I realize that it is one of my most important public works”. Keith Haring remained a street artist throughout his career and he believed that art was for everybody. He loved his stay in Italy and declared that if heaven existed, he wished it looked like Italy.

The invitation came from Piergiorgio Castellani that he had met in New York who comments on the post as well as his artist friend Kenny Scharf. The post is liked by Niki de St Phalle, herself a supporter of public art and a friend of Haring.
