#storybehindtheart
On October 9, 1982 Keith Haring had the opening reception of his first NYC solo show at Tony Shafrazi, which was a turning point in his career.
A highlight of the exhibition is the painting Untitled and in this post he shares his love of life and of the color red “Red is one of the strongest colors, it's blood, it has a power with the eye. That's why traffic lights are red I guess, and stop signs as well... In fact I use red in all of my paintings”. The emojis refers to the different meaning of the color red. He also makes a tribute to Andy Warhol with the tomato soup can emoji.
Madonna a close friend of Keith Haring, likes his post and Rene Ricard, art critic wrote about Haring in Art Forum that “the greatest thing is to come up with something so good it seems as if it’s always been there, like a proverb”.
The comment of Basquiat is based on an interview, where he said “I have to give that (street) crown to Keith Haring. I haven’t worked in the streets in so long.» Crows were used by graffiti artists to acknowledge the talent of their peers.
