Jasper Johns in POST series by Laurence de Valmy

#storybehindtheart

In 1979, Jeff Koons made Inflatable Flower and Bunny in vinyl. Seven years later, he used stainless steel to create Rabbit, on of his most famous artworks.

Rabbit was first shown in a group show opening on October 8, 1986 with the Sonnabend Gallery. The owner Ileana Sonnabend, famous for her flair, would acquire the sculpture, which will remain in her collection until she passed away.

Rabbit is a combination of influences from ready made and pop art. The connection with the Silver Clouds of Andy Warhol is reflected in the POST with the comment of Warhol.
