Georgia O Keeffe Laurence de Valmy

#storybehindtheart

In 1928, Georgia O’Keeffe is a successful artist. She has started her flowers series 2 years earlier and it will become her signature. She declared that “I'll paint what I see - what the flower is to me but I'll paint it big and they will be surprised into taking time to look at it - I will make even busy New Yorkers take time to see what I see of flowers."

On April 9, Alfred Stieglitz her husband and art dealer sends a press release announcing the amazing sale of 6 paintings. It will turn out to be an arranged deal with a friend but from that point, her pricing will rise.
