Keith Haring was a romantic at heart and this duo of paintings are the illustration of his belief in the power of love and of his love of children. These two paintings were part of his solo show in 1982 at Tony Shafrazi.
Love is Love: The POST refers to him saying “Red is one of the strongest colors (…) In fact I use red in all of my paintings.” His friend Madonna comments about his work combining innocence, joy and awareness. Basquiat’s comment is based on his quote “ the more I paint, the more I like everything”
The Radiant baby was a favorite subject of Haring who thought they were the best of human existence.
