#storybehindtheart

Keith Haring and Jean Michel Basquiat were friends and this duo reminds us of their relationship and their different universes.

Keith's Love was a main piece of his solo show in 1982 at Tony Shafrazi. This innocent yet controversial image reflects the positive attitude of Haring who believed in humanity and the power of love.

The POST refers to him saying “Red is one of the strongest colors (…) In fact I use red in all of my paintings.” His friend Madonna commented about his work combining innocence, joy and awareness.

Basquiat’s comment is based on his quote “ the more I paint, the more I like everything”

Red Skull, a favorite subject of Basquiat, was executed in 1982, year of his debut solo show with Annina Nosei Gallery in March, which received critical acclaim and brought him worldwide success. This POST is based on Basquiat's quote saying that he can actually draw with the reactions of his friend Keith Haring and his art dealer.
